Praise for an infill building
The Globe has a piece on a new Plateau building it calls soft densification. It’s a flashy architect’s project that replaced this goofy little shoebox house on de la Roche near Marie-Anne:
In other housing news, the Gazette says that, despite the floods last spring, people are still keen on waterfront properties around the western end of the island. Buying such properties ought to include a clause recognizing the buyer knows the hazard and will not expect public help if the river drops by for a visit. There’s no reason the public should subsidize private housing built in disregard of such an obvious risk.
