Work to start on Ste-Catherine Street

Major work meant to upgrade the infrastructure of Ste-Catherine Street between Bleury and Mansfield will start on Monday, January 8.

Update: QMI reports that merchants are already worried about the effects of the four-year dig that will transform the street.

Le Devoir says that the heated sidewalks mentioned during the Coderre era may not be installed after all. Seems an experiment with heated pavements on Place Vauquelin was not a success.

CTV has posted the official video about the project. Daily Hive has some stills showing how the street is meant to look, eventually.

The Gazette, predictably, sees the story in terms of traffic.
