City still wants part of World Cup 2026

Other North American cities are declining participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but Montreal is still after a piece of it despite uncertainty of any funding from Ottawa or Quebec.

Update Saturday: Le Devoir now says a city spokesperson claims they have promises of federal and provincial funding. Mélanie Joly is also boosting the idea.
