City may pay for icy sidewalks

More than a hundred people have sued the city so far this winter for injuries sustained on icy sidewalks. An admission made in January that the city hadn’t acted quickly enough to send out the machinery may give plaintiffs leverage: as a general rule, the city tries hard not to pay damages for sidewalk injuries.
