Hadrien Parizeau, welcomed as a candidate by Denis Coderre’s party last summer and elected councillor for Saint-Sulpice in Ahuntsic, has been chucked out by its successor party Ensemble Montréal. Lionel Perez denies that the dismissal has anything to do with Parizeau participating in the city’s executive committee, but Radio-Canada quotes Valérie Plante saying she thinks it does. Parizeau says he’ll sit as an independent.

Transit riders may have noticed new stickers on buses recently saying things about seeking a better deal, so it’s no surprise to read that STM workers are holding a strike vote May 3. Money is not the key concern: scheduling and organization are the main issues.
