Lise Payette, dead at 87

PQ politician and journalist Lise Payette has died. She was 87. Payette, born in Verdun, became notorious in the runup to the 1980 referendum when she called federalist women Yvettes – this is explained in the Wikipedia article, which also says Payette was responsible for changing the Quebec licence plate motto from “La Belle Province” to “Je me souviens.”
