Outremont dog owners have worked to develop a big dog park near Rockland but are now likely to lose it as that whole area turns into a new campus for UdeM. They don’t want this to happen but it will.
In other dog news, TVA is claiming there are more pitbulls in Montreal now than last year. But since the category “pitbull” is not well defined, there was never a firm census before and more of them are being registered now than formerly, I’m not sure this is a reliable piece of information.

Monday, CBC clarifies that both TMR and Westmount are keen to find ways to make it illegal to indulge in cannabis in public.

A pedestrian was mowed down by a taxi Saturday afternoon on Ste-Catherine East and is in critical condition. I guess he wasn’t wearing a helmet.
Update: Radio-Canada reports on this and two other car-pedestrian incidents overnight.
Update: Monday morning, Global says the man struck at the corner of Jeanne-Mance and René-Lévesque has died.
