STM wants security men to be cops
Even though its security has a bad reputation for overdoing their response to minor infractions, the STM wants its goons to count as special constables in the eyes of the law.

I just walked through the concourse beside McGill Metro. There was a vaguely punkish looking girl being questioned by an STM cop just inside the turnstiles. She was maybe 5’5″ and 110 lbs. Three other STM cops surrounded her, feet apart, arms akimbo or crossed, looking every bit the part of thugs. The smallest of them probably had 60 lbs on her. I stopped to watch for a couple of minutes and one of them noticed and tried to stare me down. I swear all they are missing is the hobnailed boots. Yeah, these are the guys we want to give more power.
