City razes commemorative garden
The city razed a commemorative garden near Château Ramezay last month, for reasons that aren’t clear. Note Radio-Canada describing this area as “in the Old Port” which seems odd, as it’s not facing the port at all (although we’ve previously noted the term creeping to mean all of Old Montreal).

Château Ramezay dans le Vieux-Port de Montréal?

I think of the Vieux-Port as the port itself plus rue de la Commune. The rest of Vieux‑Montréal is not “Vieux‑Port” although sometimes I see it used that way. Do you disagree?

I’ve seen this too and don’t like. People calling it the Old Port all the way up to St-Antoine.
