Pereira son accused of murder

CTV’s headline The union leader Charbonneau star will not run for Bernier’s People’s Party is a little scrambled, but pans out as this: Ken Pereira, one of Maxime Bernier’s buddies, won’t be running in next month’s election because his son has been accused of a murder in Villeray in July – this one. Giovanni Bucchianico, 49, was found dead after a group assault; Matthew Morin-Pereira is one of five people accused of killing him.

Ken Pereira had been going to run in Quebec City after a brief media career touting bizarre conspiracy theories, a favourite populist theme de nos jours. But not any more.
