Defaced election signs lead to complaints
Swastikas have been daubed on some election signs, leading the federal Liberals to lodge a police complaint about the defacements. In cases like this I don’t even think the vandals actually mean to imply the candidate is a Nazi, more likely using the symbol (which they often can just barely manage to reproduce) as an attempt to shock.

Or a way to show their racism. In the case of the Conservative in the photo, her family is originally from Egypt (of course, she could be Muslim, Coptic, Protestant, Eastern Orthodox, Protestant or Jewish, since those are the different religions in Egypt,) but it’s not really like those who are racists really look any of that up… they just see a name that isn’t “French” or even “English” enough and decide to spread their hate.
