Both CBC and Le Devoir are featuring Haitians who came here 10 years ago and how they’re doing, a decade after the earthquake in Port-au-Prince.

The city’s third downtown food hall is set to open soon.

I did a little surreptitious tour while passing through PVM the other day. Lots of greenery and comfortable-looking seating under that ginormous skylight. The plaza’s taking shape nicely too. I think this one’ll be my favourite downtown chill spot.

Don’t forget to check out the new Olimpico outlet on University facing the Eaton’s building. Their $25,000 espresso maker is something to behold.

I’ll have to go have a double there sometime, Max. But if it’s not a run-down Italian sports café in the Mile End, how can it be Olimpico?

Their latest location has the same awesome lattes as the original. That’s good enough for me.

Max, I don’t take my coffee with cow squeezins. But their espresso is just as good.

Lattes of course do not require any bovine lactation juice, you can use numerous other “milks”.

True, but almond milk has its downside and not everyone likes the taste of soy. Maybe oat milk is the least damaging.

Well if environmental damage is your primary concern here, you definitely shouldn’t be using cow milk either!

Oat is quite nice in lattes, one of my favourites. Do try.

@chris And very easy to make at home if you have a blender

Perhaps I should simply have said: in a café, what I drink is espresso, not espresso mixed with some sort of suspension to dilute it.

I was very excited by Cafe Olimpico downtown, but it closes at 6 pm. Maybe one time I will get there. To have a coffee with cow squeezins, like I like.

jeather, this one will have to be nicknamed “Open Da Day”.
