A report from the Office de consultation publique de Montréal says the city has neglected the struggle against racism and calls the city to recognize its biases in hiring and lack of training in racial sensitivity for police and other workers. The document was compiled after months of hearings. The report and a shorter summary (the latter also available in English) can be downloaded here and the OCPM also has an outline of the process.
Update: Valérie Plante admits that the city has fallen short in facing this issue.
There was a third consecutive Sunday demonstration against racism, this one at the Cartier monument Sunday afternoon, and there was also a gathering in the West Island.

Either we stay alone and immobile to protect ourselves from the plague, OR we march by the millions to overthrow the current suicidal social order.

I forget if I’m suppose to take you seriously qatzelok, because that’s a terrible false dichotomy, on both sides. Pretty much every word is debatable.
The current recommendations have nothing to do with being “alone and immobile” and the marches are quite successful in creating reform without being particularly large, nor are they very dangerous, in fact most of them allow for quite a bit of responsible social distancing.

qatzelok is not to be taken seriously.

Mayor Plante admitted that systemic racism exists in Montreal and therefore in Quebec. Tomorrow she will be demolished in all Quebecor platforms.
