City ignores internal racism: report

A report from the Office de consultation publique de Montréal says the city has neglected the struggle against racism and calls the city to recognize its biases in hiring and lack of training in racial sensitivity for police and other workers. The document was compiled after months of hearings. The report and a shorter summary (the latter also available in English) can be downloaded here and the OCPM also has an outline of the process.

Update: Valérie Plante admits that the city has fallen short in facing this issue.

There was a third consecutive Sunday demonstration against racism, this one at the Cartier monument Sunday afternoon, and there was also a gathering in the West Island.
