Overdoses are up: CACTUS director

The director of CACTUS, the safe injection group, says overdoses are up because three of its four locations have had to close temporarily. Regional health says it hasn’t seen this problem, but other provinces have recorded a surge in overdose deaths.

Services to the city’s itinerants have also been interrupted and have resulted in worsening drug, alcohol and mental health problems in that population.
