Biodôme: a third delay
For the third time, the Biodôme is delaying its reopening and will announce a new tentative date in August. (Does anyone miss it?)

For preschool and early elementary aged kids the Biodome is great, it was one of our go to’s when the boys were small and the weather was inclement.

I went a couple of times in the first year, but it was crowded. So it felt like a tour, move along to the next stop, rather than enjoy things by yourself. So I’ve never gone back.
But I actually went to the Alcan aquarium in the eighties. I found nothing wrong with it, not even the location. The Biodome isn’t really the same thing.

I’ve enjoyed when I’ve visited with out-of-town visitors and when I was a camp counsellor. Quite frankly, I’d go once every year if it was about $8-10 or so. As it stands, it’s $16.25 for an adult ticket, which I know most of my friends would find too expensive, and as a local, I’m not interested in getting a package deal to do all of the museums in one visit.

I’m missing it, but mostly because it’s an easy activity to get to by metro with the kids.
@JP un addition to Kevin’s recommendation, if you live on the island and can get a Carte Accès Montréal, they give an extra 4$ discount, bringing the price down to 12.25$ for an adult. It’s 8$ for the CAM, but it pays itself off generally after you use it twice. If you need a Bixi membership, or pays itself immediately as you get a 15% (~15$) discount on annual membership.
