Feds agree to clear Lachine Canal path
It took ten years of negotiation, but the federal government has finally agreed to keep the Lachine Canal bike path clear through the winter.
I hope this also includes clearing the access paths. In winter, a long stretch of the south side of the canal is virtually cut off from Notre Dame and access to St-Henri metro in winter. Nobody cleared the Beaudoin Street footbridge or path that crosses the canal there when I was working on the south side of St-Patrick, and the one bus that stops along there is severely limited in schedule.
Update: CBC’s coda to their version of this story says the agreement is for this winter only.
