Police are investigating after a body was found in a residential garage in Lachine. It’s not being called a homicide yet, although marks of violence are mentioned.

Philippe Schnobb is stepping down as chairman of the STM board. Since he got the job 8 years ago after failing to win his bid for election in the 2013 municipal election (replacing Michel Labrecque, who had also got the job after failing to win his municipal election), Schnobb knows that the wind will change after November and he might as well have his bags packed. Schnobb got four years’ respite when Valérie Plante decided to keep him in the job when she was elected, a choice that surprised people at the time.
La Presse’s Philippe Teisceira-Lessard sees the resignation as Schnobb leaving the boat just when the STM needs help coaxing people back to public transit.
