The Dorval library is planning a drag queen storytime event, which has ruffled feelings on social media.
DeWolf
Why is CTV providing a megaphone to a few trolls on Facebook?
Imagine if there was a news story for every time somebody said something offensive on the internet…

The library was already being attacked by the quasi-organized bunch of snowflakes that have nothing better to do.
What kind of dolt gets upset about a drag queen 30 years after Mrs. Doubtfire?

Can we start a gofundme for these people, to help them afford the move to SK or AB, where their views would be more appreciated.
qatzelok
This is a one-way relationship. Totally unequal.
I’ve been to many drag shows in my life, and they never promote libraries or literacy.

News this weekend of closures: the Dollar Cinema, and the last Cantor’s Bakery, on Queen Mary.
JaneyB
Oh, no! That’s sad news. Dollar Cinema was an institution. I hope someone reopens it somehow.
Moses
I’m not angry, just sad.

Another covid casualty. 🙁

Has anyone been to the Dollar Cinema recently? We stopped long before Covid, the place was decrepit.

I had been to the Dollar Cinema prior to COVID. It was definitely a low budget affair, not only in ticket prices and content selection, but also in terms of operation and maintenance. The place was always dirty and you could tell that many patrons were not very respectful of the establishment, leaving beer bottles and garbage everywhere. Even still, I was able to overlook it’s flaws to get a “cinema experience” on the cheap. I was looking forward to bringing my kids at some point, but it looks like I won’t have the opportunity now.
