Hochelaga alley named for Dr Julien
An alley in Hochelaga has been named for Dr Gilles Julien, renowned for his work supporting children’s health in the area.
It’s described as a symbolic naming, probably because Julien is still alive and there’s a toponymy policy on not naming city features for living people. The policy has been broken a few times, but still stands. It’s good to let someone’s reputation mature a bit before you put their name on things, e.g. Claude Jutra.
