Sixteen jobs in an afternoon

A La Presse journalist handing out a minimal CV and claiming not to speak any English was offered sixteen jobs in different downtown establishments recently, after making 30 applications in one day. A second experiment with an imaginary postulant who didn’t speak any French collected two offers, including one that was definitely not public‑facing, so it’s clear that the issue of unilingual anglos working downtown is not as big as it’s been made out.
