Demo protests sex offender’s treatment
A group of women held a protest Sunday afternoon against the conditional discharge granted to sexual aggressor Simon Houle because the judge felt a conviction would ruin his career. Prosecutors plan to appeal the sentence.
Update: Radio-Canada reports that, two weeks after his “absolution”, Houle was in Cuba groping another woman. When she challenged him, he said “Je suis désolé, je suis désolé, c’est mes mains. C’est pas moi, c’est mes mains.” !!

Glad to see his need to travel for work and his real shame and regret came together to show how entirely reasonable the sentence was.
The protest is about the judge, specifically, and I hope that might go somewhere. I doubt it, but you never know.

Vickie Vachon is a hero – must have taken a lot of courage to fight off this asshole, give him the lecture the judge decided wasn’t necessary, and finally file a police complaint against him. Here’s hoping the judge’s decision is overturned and that the judge is encouraged to find a new line of work.
