Shooting suspect ”had bad mental problems“

The father of the now deceased suspect in the three recent Montreal‑area shootings says he suffered from serious mental problems. He has been named as Abdullah Shaikh, 26, and he was awaiting trial on various assault charges. It’s notable that while those charges were issued in 2016, his trial was only scheduled for 2023.

And further, the suspect was freed from an unnamed institution although one psychiatrist felt he was a risk.
