A crossing guard on her first day of work was knocked down by a car Tuesday in Ahuntsic, luckily escaping serious injury. More calls to make streets safer for pedestrians follow.

Ten of the current Canadiens roster have chosen to take French classes although none are named here. Item says that right now, there are only three francophones on the team: Jonathan Drouin, Samuel Montembeault and David Savard, although a couple of others can get by in French.

The city banned 36 pesticide compounds last year but has un‑banned a rat poison that pest control companies say they need to stop a plague of rats from taking over.

The Journal tells the sordid tale behind a 2019 murder, a grim epic about an escort agency and an angry man.

From time to time there’ll be a report of a murder, but the sequel isn’t always forthcoming. This time it is.

Workers at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges are on strike, trying to get a new contract after the last one lapsed in 2018.

More on the winter storm we’re expecting – according to the hourly weather page it will be light snow on and off all day, then it’ll get serious around 6 pm, snow hard all night, and by Friday morning it may shift to freezing rain.

There’s a new weather site I’ve been hearing good things about, putting that out there for anyone who needs it.

You sound like my cat, who can’t forgive me for making it cold and inhospitable outside.

Ours seems to have finally figured out that if it’s cold at the back door, it is also going to be cold at the front.

Mine are so annoyed by the cold they no longer come to the front door to greet me. They sometimes go on the balcony if the door is open but are mostly uninterested in the outdoors. I really appreciate not having to work to keep them inside.

walkerp, you have a feline genius there.

Well he’s very handsome but I’m not sure we have seen a lot of evidence of genius so far. 🙂

I had a cat who got lost on the stairs so the bar is low.

Aw nice, that site you lined is using the pirateweather API 🙂
My cats are more angry about the neighbourhood cats coming up to the windows and looking in. Both my ladies deeply appreciate warm, cozy naps for 5 months of the year.
