Fortnightly garbage suggested by QMI
QMI seems to be setting itself up against the possibility that garbage pickup may go to every two weeks throughout the city – even though this has only been hinted at so far, and is only being tested out in part of Hochelaga‑Maisonneuve.

no it’s supposed to happen in Verdun this summer

What do you think? I have a feeling they may end up making it seasonal.

Has been every 2 weeks in Saint Laurent for years – not an issue in winter but can be pungent during the summer months.

Every two weeks is fine, if we can solve the problem of people leaving their trash bags o the street 2,3 or even 4 days before it’s scheduled to be picked-up.

Agreed. None of the articles I’ve seen about this (and thanks, folks, for explaining that the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve test is not unique) discusses the problem of trash being put out long before pickup: the possible smells in summer and the rats (which have been mentioned recently in some media but not linked to the biweekly pickup theme yet).
I follow a Facebook group for Park Extension and there are recurrent complaints about garbage being put out at odd times by some apartment janitors and stores.
