Oratory opens new pavilion
St Joseph’s Oratory has opened a new visitors’ pavilion, but the interesting thing here is the promise of eventual public access to the top of the dome, which was promised years ago yet has never been delivered.
As promised in 2018 for 2020 and I’m sure it was mentioned previously to 2018 as well.

I thought it was weird that they didn’t mention it two weeks ago when they were complaining about trespassers going up there.

True, but it is a part of the next phase: “The next phase of the wider redevelopment project is expected to begin in the next two years, and Grou said that will take visitors into the dome itself.
“’When they get up there, it will be the only place in Montreal where you can see, at the same time, the three summits of Mount Royal,” Grou said. “It’s a unique experience, and I’m sure it will be breathtaking.’”

You say trespasser, I say “I’m just a confused tourist, officer”.
