New law: No more ceremonies at Birks chapel
The new catholaïcité law ordains that no further ceremonies can be held at McGill’s Birks chapel, which has sometimes been used for weddings and baptisms, but a Catholic chapel at Quebec City’s Laval University can go on holding masses on the technicality that it’s part of a student residence and not the university proper.
