Part of the REM is down
Ice has caused a stoppage of the REM between Brossard and Central Station, according to this Radio‑Canada piece, although before 9, CBC radio suggested the stoppage extends up to Canora.
Freezing rain has caused power outages to thousands of households, and some schools are still closed.

Recycling was not picked up on my street on Wednesday although I didn’t see anything about the city or specific boroughs pausing that service. Bags and bins linger along the sidewalks.

I’m just south of you I think (Petite-Patrie). We got a text message saying bulk items pick-up was suspended but they still came. Perhaps they only did certain streets and not all of them.

My garbage got picked up despite my alley still looking like an enthusiastic glass-blower’s reject pile.

My recycling got picked up more than a day late, but it did get picked up, glad to say.

@Kate probably because someone complained to 311 – they’re super responsive but having to phone in every second garbage pickup because the workers are overloaded is far from ideal. It’s great that you can efficiently inform the city of its misses, but over time it just reduces our expectations that things will be done right the first time. I had hoped that a couple of PM mandates would lead to improvements in basic services in Montreal, but that was a pipe dream in hindsight.
