The state of Notre-Dame East
La Presse has a two-parter Tuesday on the state of Notre‑Dame East. Maxime Bergeron looks at the history of the street, promises made and broken, including the demolition of hundreds of residential buildings along the north side to make way for a highway that was never built. That’s where all those bands of parkland exist now which have become campsites of the homeless.
The future of the street remains uncertain despite talk about improving transit to the eastern part of the island.
