Snowstorm expected overnight
Up to 20 cm of snow is expected overnight.
Sunday morning, the snow is heavy because it’s so full of water, but it doesn’t rate a Storm Watch graphic. I went and cleared the steps early after seeing the hourly forecast predicting a drop in temperature later in the day which would freeze that snow into an intractable slab.

There must be some harsh German term for the emotional state caused by getting a snow day on a Sunday.

Wasn’t terrible, though like you I cleared off everything before it solidified. Should melt away over the week as it will be quite warm Tuesday and Wednesday.

I think I’m especially aware of the hazard because my front steps are directly under the second‑floor mezzanine balcony and the third‑floor balconies of this triplex, so that when we get a thaw, they all drip down onto my steps. Then if there’s a sudden descent below 0°, the whole thing can seize up.
