COVID-19 stories, mid-April
COVID-19 continues to provide almost all the news:
- Thirty workers at the Montreal General are in quarantine
- The entrance hall of the Grande bibliothèque has been turned into a day shelter for the homeless (the library has been closed for weeks) and the city will be opening another one soon in Hochelaga
- A couple caught canoodling on Mount Royal, who told police they didn’t cohabit, were hit with hefty fines
- Headlines tout how the city is talking about a May “relaunch” – but in text it’s clear the mayor knows it will take much longer to recover
- Media are talking to nurses about their experiences at CHSLDs: one man withdrew from his shifts at a Lasalle residence, and a woman working in a Laval residence was hospitalized herself after catching the virus
