Parish asks court to approve church demolition
The fabrique of Saint-Eusèbe-de-Verceil church on Fullum is applying to the courts to force the city to give it a demolition permit. The huge building, which we’ve discussed here before, is crumbling, a danger to urban explorers and no benefit for the neighbourhood either.
CTV explains how the parish is forced to spend thousands on minimal maintenance and city fines. There’s no explanation where the money’s coming from, since the La Presse piece mentions weekly masses are attended by seven or eight people in a corridor from the presbytery.
