REM down for an hour on D-M branch
The REM was down for an hour Wednesday evening between Bois‑Franc and Deux‑Montagnes. A general slowdown is also mentioned, and a lack of shuttle buses.

The REM doesn’t work when there’s snow. Also when there’s no snow. /s

Broke down again this morning. At least the staff at Panama have the shuttle bus routine down pat. Saw an interview on RadCan with some transportation expert that said it takes avg 6yrs for a system to work out the kinks so 4yrs to go, right? Usually I’d be super cranky, but the recent Finch LRT in Taronno makes the REM a speedy, luxurious limo in comparison so it ain’t that bad lol

So due to being stuck at the Town of Mont Royal REM station for 15 minutes around 5:30pm I decided to get out and change taking the 16 to take me to VSL. It runs every 30 mins, so I waited for 45 minutes, which all in all isn’t too bad ( the driver that came said the previous bus was in a small accident on Jean-Talon ).
Well on the 16 between TMR REM station and Sainte-Croix/de L’eglise were almost on 3 or 4 accidents too! two of them the driver had to slam in the brakes forcefully sending people flying inside. Drivers were completely nuts! swerving in and out of their lanes (without blinkers but anyways). Turning right from the extreme left lane on Graham at the last minute… totally dangerous driving whilst it was still snowing heavily and the roads were slippery (the bus itself slid a bit left and right a couple of times on different turns ) and I was at the very front of the bus I am not too proud to admit that drive was scary af!! I don’t understand how people can drive like that is bad conditions (or good ones really!) Poor driver had a few choice words a couple of times, but way milder than anything I would have said if I were in his place!
Next time I will stay on the REM and wait whatever time it takes for it to start again….
