La Presse talks to the guys who run Agora Montreal about why they do it.
DeWolf
It’s a great forum. Good vibe, intelligent discussions, indispensable resource for anyone who wants to keep up to date with what’s being built in Montreal, whether it’s private development or public projects.
DeWolf
(I should mention that I’m one of the 100 members who are active on a daily basis, which is frankly less than I would have expected…)
Mr.Chinaski
It’s also a hundred time better than the pile of rubbish that is mtlurb…
qatzelok
I, like many others, was banned from mtlurb for supporting bike lane developments.
CE
I’ve used both to see what new developments are in the pipeline or to get information on things being built but have never really engaged with the communies. I find Agora has a better interface so tend to use it more. What is so bad about mtlurb compared to Agora?
DeWolf
Agora was started precisely because the owner of mtlurb threw a hissy fit when the REV St-Denis was built and banned all discussions related to active mobility. I think the founders of Agora were banned from mtlurb, along with a few other prominent members (including someone who is now a borough councillor).
Benoit
Two borough concillors, actually. One of them is me.
