Land donated for Irish memorial

The Anglican church has donated a piece of land for the creation of a formal memorial site for the Black Rock. I’m just a little tweaked by some of the language used by Fergus Keyes here: “…the great humanitarian effort of the people who came to help them, many of whom gave up their lives. And they represented every language and every religion you can think of that was in Montreal in 1847.” That suggests that, by the time it’s created, the memorial won’t really be about the Irish at all.

We also have the problem that the lettering on the Black Rock is only in English.
