As police continue their investigation of the presumed murder-suicide in Mile End last month, sex workers and their defenders say federal laws put them in danger: put tersely, the nature of their livelihood means they can’t safely ask for police help if they’ve experienced violence. They are, in that time-worn phrase, on the wrong side of the law.

There are 250 too many deer in Îles‑de‑Boucherville park and 50 too many in east‑end Pointe‑aux‑Prairies park. This is in addition to the ongoing saga of the deer in the Longueuil park, some of which are going to be slaughtered.
I have no idea whether deer that live in these conditions are fit to eat, but surely if we’ve got to kill them off to preserve parkland, at least someone could benefit?

I think the deer should be killed and given to people who can make good use of them.
It would benefit people, and reduce the deer population. They don’t have to be killed inhumanely or wasted or anything.Blork
I know with the Longueuil situation there is definitely talk of using the meat for some useful purpose, such as food banks or whatever.

In the second car‑flies‑off‑overpass incident this week, a car fell off a Pointe‑Claire overpass: this time the two people inside were injured but not killed. TVA also notes that this is the second recent incident at this spot, a man having gone over the edge in his car there last month.

Given that the two who died in the overpass incident earlier in the week, and the three mentioned here were all guys, perhaps Thelma and Louise is the wrong reference.
