A wild area in the old Technoparc, part of the zone prized by conservationists and nature photographers, was recently mowed, removing a huge area of wild plants and flowers needed by bees and butterflies. The article implies that the land is under the control of Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) but that they did not reply to questions.

By the way, milkweed, which is mentioned in the article as important to monarch butterflies, is at its peak right now – and it smells wonderful, as good as lilacs or peonies or roses.

Most media are reporting that this Moving Day has seen a record number of tenants without anywhere to go. Six hundred households across Quebec and 100 in Montreal are the figures I’m seeing. Official estimates of rent levels are also way too low.
