The Journal says that the body found in a recycling bin last week was a 35‑year‑old man who was killed in an Airbnb on Pine then presumably dragged down and dumped on Docteur‑Penfield. Although his age is given, his name is not.

Tourism Montreal says the tourists were back in town in summer 2022, at around 80% of pre‑pandemic levels – eight million visitors estimated.
Ephraim
As I said before, if this is 80%, we are NOT prepared for 100%. I wish I had the money, there were two small hotels for sale in Montreal this year that I would have LOVED to have taken over, fixed and resold… because often the problem is management and vision… for example, an old budget hotel that needs to be turned into more of an upscale hostel or a more electronically managed hotel. Lack of vision.

A nephew of Manchester United’s fabled Eric Cantona is a soccer goalkeeper at UQAM.

I am unimpressed by the “Eric Cantona kicked an opposing team’s fan” .
It’s a lazy way of spelling “Cantona, child of refugees from fascist Spain, fly kicked a swastika wearing, Nazi saluting, fascist who had been yelling go back to France”
(This is not Montreal related but “Cantona Kicked a fan” is the hill I’ll always die on!)

A man was shot several times in a doorway in Montreal North on Sunday evening. He didn’t die, and there have been no arrests.
A man was found dead in an NDG apartment, not long after midnight, and his death is considered suspect by police.
Update: TVA later upgraded the headlne to call this one murder. Presumably Homicide #27.
