Oka beach, now accessible by bicycle. (Oka beach is 15km from the Deux-Montagnes REM station, separated bike path — much of it through forest — the whole way!) Noice!
@Blork I hadn’t even thought about that. Pretty amazing! Driving to Oka Beach is a nightmare on the weekends but being able to cycle there without making a huge day of it would be wonderful.
When the Deux Montagnes train was running, I would go to Oka once a summer by bike. It was easy to take a bike on the train and the bike path wasn’t far from the station. Once you got on the path, it was smooth sailing right to the park. No waiting in traffic, no paying for parking. Hopefully it will be as easy to take bikes on the REM as it was on the Exo train.
A couple years ago, I took the Exo out to Vaudreuil with my bike and took the ferry across the river, had lunch in Oka and stayed the night at the park. It was a very nice trip although not as easy to navigate as the Deux Montagnes route.

Is anyone taking bets on when the first breakdown will be?

I will put my money on, on or before November 17.
