A debate on strikes
The reliably far-right Montreal Economic Institute claims that unions are unprecedently taking Quebec hostage with strikes, and CTV gives this prominence in the headline, but at least they counter the claim with statements from a different academic in the text, who says the current unrest can be blamed on “stagnating wages, benefits and pensions going away, hours getting cut and more reliance on part-time workers.”
In fact, every generation has to struggle all over again for its rights.

I hope the people at MEI work 10 hour days 7 days a week, because 8 hour days and weekends were also hard-fought for and won by the labour movement, despite business claims that this “bolshevism” would kill the economy. At least they’re not allowed to send Pinkerton men in with baseball bats to break up strikes anymore.
