Illegal towing can cost drivers dear
Tow trucks are pouncing on cars illegally parked in private lots, hauling them away and charging the owners $117 to tell them where they are – but this too is illegal. The Journal says it’s the Far West, as only police have the right to do this.

It’s parking theft, a type of theft that people just dismiss in their minds as acceptable. The park in a lot, buy something at the business and then go elsewhere. Or just park there and go to another business. But really, it’s theft of parking and a business is paying for it. If I was the business, I too would be pissed. (Some people will even park in the handicapped spot and walk away. PS If you see them do this with a handicapped spot, call the cops immediately… they obviously need the $300+ ticket to remind them not to do it.)
