City asks users to find alternatives to ecocentres
With two city ecocentres closed, the city is asking users to find alternatives if they can because the remaining five are becoming overloaded in turn.

Make that three, Cote des Neiges is also closed now. The populations of Lasalle and CDN / NDG total almost 250 000 people. This is ridiculous.

First recycling and now this. The Plante administration isn’t having an easy time dealing with the citizen’s refuse.

It’s not Plante and it’s not just this city. The entire west used to expect nature or the third world to take our trash and deal with it. Neither method is viable any more but nobody has worked out a way for us to continue our lifestyles otherwise.

Yeah, I wasn’t trash talking her. Just commenting on how rubbish the garbage collection situation is these days.

Of course this is when I just starting a renovation and I have my car full of rubble. I went to the eco centre near my house in Petite Patrie and there were 40 cars waiting. Waiting time 2 hours minimum. I asked and they have reduced opening hours so they open at 10:00 instead of 8. I was told that if I arrive an hour early at 9am tomorrow there’s a good chance ill be done by 10:30. So that’s the plan, even though I have much better things to do than waiting in line.

@dwgs, include the Sud-Ouest in that count also. Our éco-centre closed a few years back because of the Turcot reconstruction. Since then we’ve been redirected to Lasalle.
