The SPVM held a minority hiring fair Saturday in St-Michel in an attempt to appeal to more diverse recruits and inch away from the charges of systemic racism that have been made against it for years.

They want to step away from them, put in some damn policies that make cops think TWICE before trying it. Put in rules about cellphones and publicly announce them, so the cops can’t deny them… like:
1. You can use your phone to record the actions of the police. Without hinderance.
2. A police officer may request your phone, but must notify you that you can lock it prior to handing it to them. You may photograph them before locking it.
3. The police office must put it immediately in an evidence bag without examininig it and hand you an official receipt.
4. All telephone searches will require a subpeona to look at the contents of the telephone.
Once the police know that you know… they are less likely to intimidate someone about their telephone and less likely to act as if the telephones out there aren’t recording their action
