Shots were fired Thursday afternoon at the terrasse of Café Sorrento in St‑Léonard. A random man was injured, possibly by broken glass, but apparently the target fled the scene. TVA adds a rundown of recent gun‑related crime.

Tim Forster tells the story of his internship at CBC Montreal.

Well played revenge drop, Tim! I suspect there is somewhat tempering other side to that story around the internship and getting paid stuff, though the whole thing is pretty old school unpleasant. I love the CBC but you know it is filled with incompetent and fearful Peter-Principled managers.

On the outside, CBC is really good at presenting a liberal, forward-thinking and inclusive happy face but Tim’s story was certainly not the first tell-all that reveal that it can be as discriminatory as any typical workplace.

The Jian Ghomeshi scandal wasn’t that long ago and that revealed what a horrible, toxic workplace it was at CBC Toronto. Would be interesting to know whether CBC had taken real measures to improve things in recent years.

I also spent about ten years of my life working in various aspects of mass media production and post-production. But what struck me was how boring and bureaucratic those jobs are

It feels like working at the most boring insurance company in the world.

There’s a plan afoot to have artists jazz up empty spaces downtown. Further from CTV.

When Crescent St. and the Eaton Centre become artists’ lofts, you know downtown has drastically changed.

Things like this have been done before. I think they’ve done it along St‑Denis and on Plaza St‑Hubert too.
