Violent scenes at the Legendre bus garage
CNESST reports acquired by La Presse indicate that the work climate in the huge STM Legendre bus garage is so bad that police have been called when fights have broken out. Both management and the union are aware of the scale of the acrimony, and agree that it has to be fixed – but there’s not much here about the root causes. The union guy says “Parfois, des petites situations s’accumulent et deviennent de plus gros évènements” which may or may not be an evasion – but it’s more than they got from management.
Also, I’m puzzled about “discussions in different languages” and wonder whether this could be more of the same problem that exists in some city works garages, i.e. racism against Black workers, who may be speaking Kréyol among themselves.
