On schools named after Catholic saints
Le Devoir has a piece on a topic we’ve raised on the blog from time to time: how so many schools (as well as towns and other things) are named after Catholic saints in so‑secular Quebec.
Sunday, La Presse has a dossier, interviewing three women who fled religious families – interestingly, none of them Catholic. Maybe they couldn’t find one?

It’s interesting to read this today as I just met someone (an Italian) who fled her extremely conservative Catholic family for Paris.
