Rosemont-PP has put up new stop signs on 88 corners even though city traffic engineers said not to. There seems to be no agreement whether this will make pedestrians any safer. The item says that Villeray is participating in a study to determine whether stops work, but both boroughs are simply playing politics in different ways with the central city.

The Centre d’histoire piece this weekend looks at the Riverside pumping station, now the site of a smithy meant to preserve the old techniques of forging metal by hand. This outfit’s been mentioned before on the blog – the city nearly evicted them earlier this year – but without my archive I can’t link to earlier posts.
