The government has stated repeatedly and unequivocally that Canada will not be participating in this war. The Minister of Defense said “Canada has not participated and Canada will not be participating.” The Prime Minister said “Canada is not participating in the United States and Israeli offensive and will never participate in it.”
This was a protest against Israel and the US, in the rubric of radical anti-Israel, anti-US, “anti-imperialist”, etc. agitprop, posing as an anti-war protest, as seen in the flags and the list of groups who organized it.

Politicians aren’t exactly known to stick to their word. They’re under tons of pressure from private interest groups – those meetings and phone calls just aren’t publicized – so it’s important that regular folks apply some heat as well.

bob, Globe and Mail headline: Canada, Japan, European allies willing to use ‘appropriate efforts’ to reopen Strait of Hormuz. That wouldn’t be the act of a neutral force.
