MUHC wants the Neuro to move to the Glen
The MUHC has a long-term plan to move the Montreal Neuro to the Glen site, offering a litany of reasons why the existing, castellar building on the mountain is too old, too cramped and too decrepit, but not spelling out whether they want another new building put up on the Glen site, if there’s even room. A Google aerial view shows that the space on the Montreal side of the site is filled up.

What’s the deal with the empty field on the east side of the hospital? Does belong to them?
My wife was scheduled a late-evening appointment on Halloween at the Neuro, and with the dark under-construction hallways and old school fluorescent lights it was a really creepy experience. Half expected to see a “mad scientist” character pop out of a doorway.

The MUHC is built up to a line which is the border between Montreal and Westmount in that area.

That field was supposedly reserved for the neuro according to rumors. I’m sure they could probably use the buildings next to either side of Vendome metro or build up. The Chest was integrated into the Vic building and that used to be an entire building on St. Urbain. Haven’t been to the neuro in years, but yeah it’s like a set of a hospital horror movie according to the guys I know still working there.
