I love how for the agglo in the 10 years prior to the last census there were 80,000 units constructed, and yet the goal is just 50,000 units in 20 years. Everyone agrees we’re in a housing crisis and yet our goals are less than a third of the rate we’ve already done! I guess that’s one way to guarantee success.
The suburbs built fewer units per capita but are no slouches either, according to Statscan. But what we need is accelerating that growth, not cutting it.
